What Does PPD Mean?

PPD stands for postponed. It will be listed next to a player who has a game that is postponed. If a game has been postponed, you will have to find another player to fill that role in your starting lineup. Similar to a player who is out with an injury, a player from a postponed game will not contribute fantasy points for that league.

With that being said, rules can vary in different fantasy football leagues. Confirm the rules with your league commissioner.

Reasons for Postponed Games

Postponed games have not been common throughout NFL history. However, there are situations in which a game is postponed and needs to be rescheduled to a later date.

In recent years, we saw COVID postpone several games. In the 2022 season, we saw a game postponed after the devastating injury to Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin. As you can see, there are reasons to postpone an NFL matchup.

If fantasy owners see the acronym PPD next to a player before gameday, they will have to make adjustments to their fantasy team.

How Do Postponed Games Impact Fantasy Points?

If a player is already listed with the abbreviation PPD, you will have to make adjustments to your fantasy football team. If a game is postponed or canceled in the middle of the action, you will have to refer to your commissioner or fantasy platform. The rules might vary based on where you play fantasy football.
