Mike Williams’ Career
A first-round pick by the Chargers in 2017, Williams has spent his whole NFL career with the same team. Over those seven seasons, he amassed 309 receptions for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns, averaging a stellar 15.6 yards per catch. His ability to stretch the field is undeniable, evidenced by leading the league in average receiving yards per reception in 2019 (20.4).
At 6’4”, 218 pounds, Williams is one of the premier contested catch deep threats in the NFL. From 2018-2023, he posted two fantasy WR1 performances in half-PPR scoring per game, one WR2 campaign, one WR3, and two that ended up WR4 or worse.

Mike Williams Fit with the Jets
The Jets were one of the worst passing offenses in the NFL last season ranking 30th in passing yards and 32nd in touchdowns via the air. This is not a huge surprise, however, after Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending torn Achilles several minutes into the season, leaving them with Zach Wilson, Trevor Siemian, and Tim Boyle to steer the ship. Enter Mike Williams, a player who perfectly complements Rodgers’ vertical passing style.
