The Green Bay Packers target distribution was a mystery for much of the 2022 season, opening up the possibility for fantasy football sleepers in 2023. Fellow rookie Christian Watson became the big-play guy for the team down the stretch, but Romeo Doubs had stretches of high usage, particularly with Watson dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him out of Weeks 3, 6, and 7. Week 7 was a dud for Doubs, but he accumulated 17 targets in the other two games, turning it into a 12-94-1 stat line.
With Doubs also missing four games towards the end of the season, the rookie tandem would actually finish the season only separated by one target (67-to-66).
Now entering his second season amidst rumors that he is new quarterback Jordan Love’s “go-to” guy through camp, Doubs is coming off the board with an average draft position (ADP) of 12.05. As the WR50 in drafts, he has a several ways to outkick his current ADP, making him a fantasy football sleeper in PPR and non-PPR leagues this season.

Receiving Room Ambiguity
The Green Bay offense currently has the third-largest air yards percentage available (58.8%) and the third-highest target share (47.7%) up for grabs. Last season Doubs flashed legitimate upside in an inconsistent offense, and when The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman was asked who he thought would be the most productive WRs in terms of receptions, he responded, “By catches? I’ll go, barring injury, Romeo Doubs, Watson, Jones, Musgrave, and Reed, in that order.”
While that’s just one observer’s opinion, it is telling that this WR room is really a toss-up at this point, and while Christian Watson is costing drafters a fifth-round pick, Doubs is there six rounds later in the 11th. He enters the season as the WR2 for the Packers, and if Jordan Love can get this team moving the chains, has the potential to outproduce his current WR4/5 ADP.
Fantasy Football Sleeper: An ADP Bargain
Currently coming off of 2023 fantasy football draft boards at 12.05 as the WR50, drafters are clearly afraid of a quarterback change, even though we aren’t sure that Jordan Love is a below-average quarterback. Romeo Doubs showed stretches of brilliance last year, and there’s a very clear opportunity for the sophomore to become the target leader on a team that needs a consistent underneath guy. 4for4 currently has Doubs projected for a 59-781-3.7 stat line, which qualifies him as a WR4, which is a great value with where he’s going.
