Rich Harden cruised yesterday for two innings and then completely fell apart in the third inning. He wasn’t even able to complete his scheduled three innings.
Immediately, I cried a little inside, certain that it was because his shoulder had busted. But apparently not.
“Yeah, I got a little wild that last inning. It happens, whatever,” he said, blaming the control problems on issues with his mechanics.
“Overall I felt really strong,” he said. “That’s probably the best I’ve felt in a long time. I felt like I could have thrown 100 pitches today.” Daily Herald.
I don’t know that I’d be as cavalier about “mechanics” being the issue, but as Harden said, whatever. If he felt good and strong, I’m happy.
Still nervous as all get out, but happy.
