They did it! The Chicago Cubs won a road series for the first time in three months, and the first time against an NL Central opponent all year!
… and don’t you DARE try to take this away from me by saying that they split the series and then separately won a neutral site game. No sir. This was a road game. I WANT IT.
Jose Quintana was brilliant, and the offense was clicking right away after a day of fun at the Little League Classic. Maybe they all needed a moment to chill, be with kids, have some fun, and remember what that whole thing was like.
Also, I’m not saying it was definitely the uniforms, but I’m not not saying it:
I won’t even say words right now about an unnecessarily and comically tense 9th inning in what had been a 7-0 game with Craig Kimbrel entering. It’s just a good win on the road-ish, and finally, FINALLY, a road series win. And in a special fun place, to boot.
