Marc Eversley arrived in Chicago less than two years ago, and a team is already trying to pry him away.
According to Yahoo Sports Chris Haynes, after firing GM and President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey Friday morning, Eversley is expected to receive strong consideration for the front office vacancy.

I’d be a whole lot less concerned for the Bulls if this was nothing more than a lateral move (i.e. a GM job under a president, like his situation in Chicago), however, considering Olshey was the No. 1 man for Portland, it appears this could be a sizable promotion for Eversley. And while I still lean toward believing Eversley would not leave Chicago this soon, especially in the midst of one of the franchise’s most successful seasons in nearly a decade, no one can deny money talks.
And of course, the opportunity to run an NBA franchise does not come up often, so we will have to monitor how much interest Eversley’s name draws very closely. There is no question his departure would be a pretty big loss for this rejuvenated organization. After all, he was the one who flew to LA to convince his old friend DeMar DeRozan to sign with Chicago, and his fingerprints have surely been all over the rest of the team’s massive roster overhaul.
Overall, the idea of leaving a major market like Chicago during the beginning of an exciting new era for a rocky situation in Portland has my concern level at roughly 30 percent. But there is plenty of time for it to go up as we track this story.
Hey, at least this means the Bulls have a good front office now, right!?
