Sports betting in Kentucky is a month away. And on Monday, sportsbooks launched pre-registration offers to get new users on board ahead of the Sept. 28 online wagering launch.
The DraftKings Kentucky promo offers $200 in bonus bets with no deposit required, a pretty rare occurrence in today’s sports betting world. Bonus offers with no deposit needed are typically only available before a sportsbook goes live in a particular state. Once Kentucky flips the switch on Sept. 28, this offer will expire and a small deposit or minimum bet will be required to claim any bonus offer.

Other Sportsbook Offers in Kentucky
There are seven sportsbooks approved to launch in Kentucky at the end of September with room for more in the coming years (though many of the Tier 2 players in the space have begun to pull out of the market; TwinSpires was actually one of the first last year).
As of Monday morning, there are three pre-launch offers available:

Typically, pre-launch offers will feature bonus bet offers with no deposit or a small deposit. Once a state is more mature in its sports betting journey, you’ll see “first bet insurance” offers, which only kick in if your first wager on the platform loses.
Those offers are advertised as higher value but come with more risk, as your first bet will be paid back in bonus bets if it loses. And if you lose those bonus bets, you can end up with nothing.

- The promotional offer is valid between 08/28/2023 at 06:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) and expires on the first date and time that DraftKings is permitted to accept sports wagers in the State of Kentucky (the “Promotional Period”).
- Must be physically located Kentucky (an “Eligible Jurisdiction”). Must be 18+ years of age or older.
- New DraftKings Sportsbook customers who successfully sign up will receive $200 issued as eight (8) $25 Bonus Bets on launch day.
- Bonus Bets are non-cashable and cannot be withdrawn.
- Bonus bets must be wagered 1x and stake is not included in any returns or winnings.
- Bonus Bets expire 7 days (168 hours) after being awarded.
- Ends when DraftKings is permitted to accept sports wagers in KY.
- Limit one (1) offer per customer.
