Coca-Cola 600 Odds and Picks
The roar of engines at Charlotte Motor Speedway has subsided, but the echoes of qualifying still reverberate! The drama unfolded as penalties shuffled the starting grid, and a surprise name topped the board shaking up pre-race predictions for the grueling Coca-Cola 600.

Young gun Ty Gibbs grabbed the coveted pole position, his first in the Cup Series, after joining team “No Lift” in corners 3 and 4. His final lap time of 29.355 was a half second better than fellow front-row starter William Byron. Rounding out the top 10 qualifiers were C. Bell, M. Truex, C. Elliott, A. Bowman, R. Chastain, T. Reddick, M. McDowell, and K. Larson. Larson was the best overall car in practice and has an exciting Sunday ahead of him as he prepares for the Indy 500 and the “Double”, weather depending.
Coca-Cola 600 Purse & Winner’s Payout
The biggest news out of the Cup garage on Saturday though was that Tyler Reddick, one of the pre-qualifying Coca-Cola 600 odds favorites, has to start in the rear and serve a pass-through penalty for an unapproved adjustment after inspection. He’ll be joined by one of the hottest drivers in the Cup Series Chris Buescher who wrecked during practice and has to use his backup car for the race. Check out the updated Coca-Cola 600 odds from DraftKings Sportsbook below.

Post Qualifying Coca-Cola 600 Bets
As much as I love the Coca-Cola 600, betting it is extremely difficult due to the extended distance promoting more potential problems that can ruin wagers. I do have a couple of drivers I’m targeting for at the betting window so take a look my favorite post-qualifying Coca-Cola 600 bets.
Alex Bowman Top 10 +120 (Caesars)
Bowman the Showman has been more of an “extra” compared to his HMS teammates this season but has very solid in 2024. His 12.7 average finish is almost 5 spots better than where he wound up last year and his four Top 5s have already matched what he did the previous two seasons.
Stock up on great NASCAR gear at Fanatics!
Since joining Hendrick full-time in 2018, Alex has been solid in the Coke 600, posting top 10s in 3 of 6 races and leading multiple laps four different times. Bowman has 10th and 12th place runs in the Next Gen car here and hasn’t finished worse than 8th over the four points races ahead of this weekend. Although he’s the least likely Hendrick driver to win this week, Bowman is definitely a threat to steal a win if all goes right. Let’s just hope he takes another great points day at least.
Martin Truex Jr. to Win +850 (BetRivers)
![May 25, 2024; Concord, North Carolina, USA; NASCAR Cup Series driver Martin Truex Jr. (19) during qualifying at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Mandatory Credit: Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports](https://www.bleachernation.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/USATSI_23386308-copy.jpg)
I’m freaking ready, and I know you are too. Let’s have a Marty Party! Truex has been incredible this season and should probably have multiple wins at the moment. He is a 3-time winner at Charlotte with 2 Coca-Cola 600 victories under his belt. One of which was quite possibly the most dominant performance in recent NASCAR history, leading 392 of the 400 laps.
Even more importantly, Truex has been extremely safe and consistent in NASCAR’s longest event. He’s finished on the lead lap in 7 of the last 8 Coke 600’s with only one of the seven being a finish outside the top 10. He came home 3rd in last season’s event, and I think it’s fair to say, he’s probably a little better now than he was last year. When he looks good in practice and qualifying, he usually looks good on Sunday. I expect that trend to continue and hope it results in his first win of the year.
Bonus: If available in your state, I’m also betting Martin Truex Jr. -110 over Tyler Reddick at SuperBook.
