Craving some Blackhawks’ hockey after an exciting offseason? I’m sure. I know I am.
While we won’t get to see any of the big names that were acquired this summer just yet (we’ll just have to wait until the preseason begins on September 29th for that), the Blackhawks will have 24 prospects on display at the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase in St. Paul, Minnesota beginning today.
This prospect showcase takes the place of the regular mid-summer prospect camp that the Blackhawks hold in late July, followed by the Traverse City Rookie Tournament, a tournament that current Hawks Alex DeBrincat and Collin Delia helped the club win back in 2017.
The #mnwild will host the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase @TriaRink Sept. 15-19, including scrimmages against the @NHLBlackhawks on Friday at 7 pm and Sunday at 1 pm. Both scrimmages will be streamed live on the Wild YouTube channel. Practices are open to the public. pic.twitter.com/e7svC5yiMA

2020 and 2021 first-round picks Lukas Reichel and Nolan Allan will be on display in St. Paul, as will Colton Dach, the younger brother of current Blackhawks’ center Kirby Dach. You can check out the full roster here and dive into Mario’s players to watch here.
The Blackhawks prospects will hold practices today, tomorrow, and Saturday with a pair of scrimmages sandwiched into the five-day event. You can catch the action on the Minnesota Wild’s YouTube channel live on Friday, September 17 at 7:00 pm (ct) and Sunday, September 19 at 1:00 pm (CT).
Unfortunately, we do not have practice times and potential viewing links for the Blackhawks practices available to us just yet, but if and when they become available, we’ll be sure to provide them below!
Sure, it’s just a little teaser of what the future might have in store for the Blackhawks, but it’s Blackhawks hockey nonetheless.
