Jorge Soler’s Rocket Homer and the Double Digit Cubs (VIDEO)

The Chicago Cubs managed just one run last night against the Brewers, and it came on this rocket homer from Jorge Soler:

That was a 397-foot, 104.7-mph blast, according to ESPN’s home run tracker, and it was Soler’s third in his last six plate appearances. Dude is crushing the ball since coming off of the DL, and he’s pushed his 2015 line to .271/.331/.413, which is good for a 101 wRC+, aka, “above average.”

The homer was also Soler’s 10th overall this season, which made him the 9th(!) Cub to reach double digits this year:

  • Anthony Rizzo, 30
  • Kris Bryant, 26
  • Dexter Fowler, 17
  • Chris Coghlan, 16
  • Kyle Schwarber, 16
  • Miguel Montero, 15
  • Addison Russell, 13
  • Starlin Castro, 10
  • Jorge Soler, 10
  • Next on the team? Chris Denorfia, Welington Castillo, and Jonathan Herrera, tied at 2.
