Cubs Lineup: Another Start at Third for Baez, Still No Heyward

happy cubs old logoAnother day off for ailing right fielder Jason Heyward, whose sore wrist has kept him out of the lineup for this entire series in Pittsburgh. Here’s hoping it feel much better as the Cubs head back to Wrigley Field this weekend.

In the meantime, Ben Zobrist will take a turn filling in as the Cubs face Juan Nicasio:

  1. Dexter Fowler, CF
  2. Tommy La Stella, 2B
  3. Kris Bryant, LF
  4. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  5. Ben Zobrist, RF
  6. Javy Baez, 3B
  7. Addison Russell, SS
  8. David Ross, C
  9. Jon Lester, P

[adinserter block=”1″]Javy Baez picks up another start at third base, with Kris Bryant heading back out to left field. In the past 10 games, Bryant has almost exclusively been an outfielder. That figures to lessen as Heyward returns, but Baez’s breakout could push things back in the other direction. We shall see.

David Ross catches Jon Lester, as he does, and Tommy La Stella picks up a start at second base, since Zobrist is heading out to right.

We’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time, as the Cubs go for the sweep in Pittsburgh.
