Mavs Beat Clippers in Round 1
It was the Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving show in round 1 as they helped the Dallas Mavericks knock out the Los Angeles Clippers 4-2 in the series. Doncic averaged 29.8 points, 9.5 assists, and 8.8 rebounds in the series win. Irving added 26.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. Irving was great in game 4 in which he scored 40 points and clutch in game 6 going for 30 points to seal the series.
Dallas now heads to Oklahoma City for game 1 which is on Tuesday, May 7 at 9:30 pm ET. The game will be broadcast on TNT.
Thunder Swept Pelicans in Round 1
The Oklahoma City Thunder dominated the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round in a 4-0 sweep that included three double-digit victories. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 27.3 points per game while adding 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
Jalen Williams scored 21.3 points per game while adding 7.3 rebounds and rookie Chet Holmgren averaged 15.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks. The Thunder showed they are balanced and deep with 5 players averaging in double figures for scoring in the series.
