Pennzoil 400 Picks: Lock in these Nascar Las Vegas bets now!

Nascar’s west coast swing continues this weekend in Sin City. This is the first of two annual races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Unlike California, the weather forecast looks great and we will have practice and qualifying. Like always, I’ve been shopping pre-practice/qualifying odds. I’ve found a couple odds that will almost certainly be shorter after cars hit the track on Saturday. Here are my favorite Pennzoil 400 Picks to lock in now!

Pennzoil 400 Picks: Pre-Practice/Qualifying Values

These are my two favorite pre-practice/qualifying bets to make with the expectation that the odds will be shorter afterwards.

Alex Bowman +400 vs. Bell, Truex Jr., & Reddick (DraftKings) Bet .5u to win 2u.

On paper, it makes sense why Alex is a huge underdog to all these Toyota’s. Reddick has finished 7th or better in three straight trips to Vegas; Bell qualified on pole in the Spring and was one of the fastest cars here last fall; Lastly, Martin Truex Jr. is one of four drivers with multiple wins and has finished 8th or better in 10 of the last 11 races.        

All of that said, Bowman took home the checkered flag in the 2022 Pennzoil 400. His two total Top 5 runs are in Vegas are two more than Bell and Reddick combined. And it’s the same amount as Party Marty Truex.

Bowman has started the year the strongest among the group and it’s the best start of his career. He’s qualified on the front two rows for both races; Led multiple laps in both races; And is one of four drivers to begin 2023 with consecutive Top 10’s. Simply put, this number is far too long and a strong qualifying effort will crater it.

Bubba Wallace Top 10 +200 (FanDuel) Bet 1u to win 2.3u

Last season in Vegas wasn’t great for Bubba but he was fast and very competitive. He finished stage 2 of the Spring race 10th, but wrecked late. In the fall he led 29 laps, won stage 1, and was the fastest car in green flag speed before the infamous Kyle Larson incident.

Bubba also really excelled at Kansas, the most similar track to Las Vegas. There he led 58 laps and won the fall event. 2023 hasn’t started great with back to back 20th or worse finishes but both were not driver error and he’s shown great speed so far. 

Wallace stepped up his game late last season, and really popped at tracks like Vegas. Look for him to do it again, so grab this number before it sinks closer to +150 or even lower after qualifying.
