In addition to losing Sunday’s game against the Raiders, the Bears played most of the contest without defensive lineman Akiem Hicks.
And while Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy could not give a full report regarding Hicks’ injury, what he provided was a glimmer of optimism during his post-game press conference:

Hicks, who was already playing through a knee injury that sidelined him last week, was hurt on the Bears’ first defensive possession. Eight plays into the game, Hicks walked off the Tottenham Hotspur Stadim turf favoring his left arm in what was ultimately deemed an elbow injury. Initially, Hicks was ruled as questionable to return, but was downgraded to doubtful later in the contest. As we know, Hicks did not come back into the game.
The Bears rush defense missed Hicks as the unit watched Raiders star rookie running back Josh Jacobs gain 123 yards and score two touchdowns. But at least the team has some time to re-group with the bye. Hopefully, Hicks’ elbow injury isn’t one that will keep him down for long.
