We had a good laugh last week when a mic’d up Eddie Jackson playfully ribbed the NFL officials over some calls that were going against his teammates.
I don’t think there was much laughing after yesterday:

We need to start fining Refs. This is ludicrous on me.😤

What'd Matt Nagy think of the Jaylon Johnson PI call?
He won't really say. Probably trying not to get in trouble.— Patrick Finley (@patrickfinley) October 19, 2020
Yep, the Bears are mad about officiating. And frankly, I can’t blame them one bit.
Jackson has had two pick-sixes taken away from him. Khalil Mack has seen splash plays taken away from him because of questionable calls. Allen Robinson can’t catch a break on a potential defensive pass interference. Which is maddening based on how it was called later in the game. It’s madness and I understand why it is upsetting players.
Here’s hoping the NFL doesn’t fine players for speaking openly and critically about its officials. If anything, I hope the league takes notes on what’s happening. Because when the league puts together its all-star officiating crews for the postseason, officials who miss obvious calls shouldn’t be considered for postseason action.
