With Summer League set to start in exactly a week, the Chicago Bulls have officially announced their Summer League roster.
Here’s who will suit up in Las Vegas:
G Dalen Terry
G Javon Freeman-Liberty
G Nate Darling
G Tyree Appleby
G Yago Dos Santos
G Will Yoakum
F Julian Phillips
F Henri Drell
F Daniel Oturu
F Ben Coupet Jr.
F Justin Lewis
C Jontay Porter
C Adama Sanogo
Headlining the roster will be sophomores Dalen Terry and Justin Lewis. The Chicago Bulls’ No. 18 pick from the 2022 NBA Draft, Terry appeared in just 38 games during his rookie campaign and popped in and out of the G-League. Expectations for the second-year wing will be high, as he hopes to show he’s ready to take on a rotational spot in October.
Meanwhile, Bulls fans will see Lewis take the floor for the first time since last Summer League. Tearing his ACL prior to the start of the season, Lewis rehabbed with the Bulls before they re-signed him to a two-way contract near the end of the season. Believed by some to be the best undrafted free agent in the 2022 class, Lewis is built for the modern small-ball NBA with his bulky frame and ability to stretch the floor. I’d keep an eye on him to receive a potential full-time roster spot on a minimum deal this season.
Of course, the other two players fans will have a close eye on will be No. 35 pick Julian Phillips and undrafted free agent signing Adama Sanogo. Both players will enter the season under contract with Chicago (Sanogo on a two-way deal). Phillips, in particular, could find himself with a role early on after the departure of switchable defender Derrick Jones Jr. in the frontcourt.
A couple of roster members might also be familiar faces. Javon Freeman-Liberty played for Chicago during last season’s Summer League and signed a training camp deal with the Bulls. Henri Drell also suited up for Summer League last July before playing in the G-League for the Windy City Bulls. Lastly, Tyree Appleby is a player who we know held a pre-draft workout with Chicago a few weeks back.
If you need me in a week, I’ll be in Las Vegas for some low-stakes, developmental hoops! You can check out the team’s full schedule here.
