You Have to See Coby White’s Epic Sequence Against the Hawks

Coby White of the Chicago Bulls celebrates

Whether or not he gets the hardware, Coby White is the NBA’s Most Improved Player.

The Chicago Bulls guard has fully embraced his bigger workload this season, showing improvements in almost every aspect of his game. This was on full display in Round 1 of the Play-In Tournament against the Atlanta Hawks, especially during a sequence in the third quarter.

Pushing the ball up the floor, White found himself with four Hawks defenders in the halfcourt. The 24-year-old guard didn’t bat an eye and immediately drove into the paint. Despite Trae Young and Bogdan Bogdanovic right on his heels, White spun through the two players in the middle of the paint for the electric finish.

Watch the spin cycle:

With the United Center crowd already going crazy, White then beat two Hawks defenders for the offensive rebound and immediately found Javonte Green for the slam. To be sure, Green deserves plenty of props for his beautiful cut.

Coby White then pushed the pace again in transition to fly past the Hawks’ first line of defense and finish a smooth layup at the rim. He would finish the third quarter with 11 points, and he’s now up to 37 points with a little under 7 minutes to go. The youngster has completely taken over this game, which might as well be a best-case scenario for a Bulls team that is in desperate need of some future optimism.
