John Jenkins’ thumb injury has re-ignited our interest the defensive lineman market.
Damon “Snacks” Harrison remains a free agent of interest. And one with prior Bears ties on the rumor mill. But as it turns out, they’re not alone:
Former NFL All-Pro DT Damon “Snacks” Harrison, who openly contemplated retirement last year, has decided to play this season and is scheduled to visit next week with the Seahawks, per source. The 31-year-old Harrison also has received interest from the Bears, Packers and Bengals.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweets Harrison has scheduled a visit with the Seahawks. Seattle isn’t the only team that reportedly inquired about adding “Snacks” to their mix. The Packers, Bengals, and Bears have also reportedly shown interest.
The direct mention of the Bears is noteworthy. Considering this morning’s update regarding Jenkins’ thumb injury, I wondered if we’d get stronger hints that Chicago would be interested. And with Green Bay also popping up, I’m even more curious if the Bears’ interest kicks up a notch in an attempt to cut off a division rival looking to improve their squad. Harrison’s visit with the Seahawks isn’t until next week, so it’s tough to imagine anything is imminent right now. But in the meantime, Daniel McCullers is in line to eat up blocks as a rotational defensive lineman.
