The Philadelphia Eagles have momentum and Super Bowl experience behind them, but Las Vegas oddsmakers are backing the up-start Chicago Bears early in this one.
Chicago has been installed as a 6-point favorite against Philadelphia, according to the Westgate Superbook in Las Vegas. The over/under has been set at 41. Of the four games scheduled for Wild-Card Weekend, the 6-point spread is the largest, but the 41-point total is the lowest. Keep that in mind while making your wagers.
It’s been a profitable year for Bears backers. Chicago is 6-1 against the spread at home as and 9-3 overall against the line. As for the Eagles, they are 1-2 as an underdog this year. HOWEVER, that win was a big one in Week 15 on the road against the Los Angeles Rams.
Back in July, the Bears were expected to be favorites in just three games this season. But because they don’t play the games via CG Technology, it turns out the odds were more in Chicago’s favor than previously expected. The Bears were favorites in 12 of their 16 games this season and won 10 of those games. Their only losses were handed to them in overtime on the road against the Dolphins and Giants. Two losses by a grand total of six points. One came while the Bears were playing with a backup quarterback and the other came in what might have been the wildest game of the year.
All things considered, the Bears were good this year and they were good when the oddsmakers expected them to be. So if you weren’t confident in the Bears before, perhaps the odds being in your favor will ultimately sway your feelings.
