What to Watch For
Zach, Zach, and more Zach. LaVine has been on fire since the All-Star break, and really since the beginning of February. In his last 13 games, LaVine is averaging 30.1 PPG, 54.1% FG%, and a 42.2 3P%. He’s always been exciting and able to score in bunches, but the way he’s doing it now (in such an efficient manner) has been a real treat. Hopefully, this is the next step in his progression to becoming an elite scorer in the NBA.
Tonight very well could be a track meet. The Kings really struggle defensively, especially in the paint, which could mean a big night for LaVine attacking the rim. Vucevic too. That said, the Kings are an elite offensive team and are going to try and play fast. De’Aaron Fox has turned into one of the NBA’s best point guards, and the Kings’ offense runs through him. Sacramento can score at will. The Bulls will need to tighten things up defensively and win the battle in the paint. If LaVine and Patrick Williams both wanted to shoot over 50% from three tonight, that would be great!
It’s the beginning of an important three-game home week for the Bulls with three tough tests against the Kings, Timberwolves, and Heat. Setting the tone against a very dangerous Kings team could go a long way in terms of confidence for Friday & Saturday’s back-to-back.
