Tonight, the Chicago Cubs will look to win just their second series of the year (and their first since the first series against the Pirates). They no longer have Jacob deGrom looming tomorrow, but it sure would be nice to wrap up one of these series before the final game.
It would also be nice if Zach Davies could bounce back after two fairly disastrous starts against the Pirates at Braves (5.2 IP, 11ER, 6BB, 3Ks … combined). Fortunately, the Mets offense has been struggling worse than the Cubs, so maybe tonight’s the night.
Jason Heyward and Joc Pederson are out against the lefty David Peterson, and Jake Marisnick and Matt Duffy are taking their place (by way of some movement from Ian Happ and Kris Bryant).
Go Cubs.
