The 2024 NFL Draft is closing in and the Indianapolis Colts are almost on the clock. This three-round mock draft gives a picture of what the Colts may do to provide support for young quarterback Anthony Richardson and boost their bottom-half defense from 2023.

2024 NFL Mock Draft: Indianapolis Colts

Round 1, Pick 15: Quinyon Mitchell (CB) Toledo
The Colts prioritize their secondary, as they should, by selecting Toledo’s Mitchell. He boasts elite athleticism and shows a knack for locking down the zone. Terrion Arnold was also an option here but he underwhelmed speed-wise at the combine and is likely best suited for a team that utilizes more man coverage. Mitchell is a playmaker with raw talent and could slide right into the Colts secondary with solid coaching.
PFF gave this pick an A grade as Mitchell is their second-highest-ranked cornerback and No. 10 overall on their 2024 Big Board.
Round 2, Pick 46: Roman Wilson (WR) Michigan
Shifting gears to offense, the Colts snag a versatile weapon in Michigan’s Roman Wilson. While Michael Pittman Jr. remains the undisputed WR1, Wilson offers a different skillset for quarterback Anthony Richardson. His elite speed and sharp route-running skills make him a valuable asset, while his ability to create separation and performance in clutch moments just add to Wilson’s overall draft value.
This selection received an A grade from PFF, as they have Wilson as their No. 47 player on their Big Board, as the eighth-highest ranked wide receiver in this year’s draft class.

Round 3: Pick 82: Kamren Kinchens (S) Miami
Safety is a large need for the Colts in 2024 and they address the position with their third-round pick Kamren Kinchens. The former Hurricane’s athleticism is undeniable and he’s proven capable of game-changing plays. Kinchens’ instincts and range make him a constant threat to opposing offensive players as he constantly positions himself to disrupt.
PFF assigned this pick a B+. Kinchens is their overall Big Board No. 87 and the fourhth-highest ranked safety heading into the 2024 NFL Draft.
2024 NFL Mock Draft: Indianapolis Colts
This mock draft addresses some of the Colts’ biggest needs on both sides of the ball. Mitchell provides a long-term solution at cornerback, while Wilson injects some much-needed depth and versatility into the receiving corps. Kinchens shores up the safety position, giving the Colts a younger, athletic secondary.
Of course, this is just one possible scenario. The draft is a fluid event, and the Colts may opt to address different needs based on who falls in their lap. Nonetheless, this mock draft provides a glimpse into how the Colts could utilize their draft capital to bolster their roster and compete for a playoff berth in 2024.
