Despite the Atlanta Hawks cruising to a double-digit victory over the Chicago Bulls, tensions were high on Monday night.
The NBC Sports Chicago broadcast caught a frustrated Bogdan Bogdanovic on the bench with roughly 1:47 left in the Hawks’ win. The sharpshooter threw his water bottle on the ground during a timeout, only for it to spill everywhere and cause a brief delay. The broadcast then showed Bogdanovic get up off the bench and confront Snyder on the sideline.
The player came nearly face-to-face with his head coach before assistants and players had to separate the two. Snyder remained relatively calm during the whole incident, but Bogdanovic was clearly heated.
Take a look at the (awkward) moment here:
We all know emotion can run high during competition, so it’s really hard to know if this means anything in the grand scheme of things. My guess is that both Snyder and Bogdanovic will try to downplay the scenario after the game.
Still, you sure don’t see moments like these every day. The Hawks are also in the thick of a postseason push, so they better hope this interaction doesn’t stir up anything too awkward in the locker room.
Bogdanovic finished the game with 20 points and 6 assists. He also shot an impressive 6-7 from the field and a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.
