It’s a split-squad day for the Chicago Cubs, who’ll send half of their crew to Scottsdale to take on the Rockies, and another half to Las Vegas to LIVE IT UP, BABY!!!
… and also play the Reds in a couple games this weekend.
Today’s Scottsdale game will be started by newly-anointed fifth/fourth starter Brett Anderson. He’s quite close to making it through the spring without any kind of injury-related setback, which may not sound like much, but was a very reasonable concern coming into this thing. There’s a reason his contract is just one year, $3.5 million, and then a ton of incentives from there. Here’s hoping he maxes out those incentives this season.

Meanwhile, fifth/come-on-now starter Kyle Hendricks will take the ball for the Cubs in Las Vegas. Nothing for him to do at this point but get that arm strength where it needs to be, and then roll.
Today’s games are BOTH being broadcast on TV (spread ’em out a little, will ya?). CSN has the Reds game, and the Rockies are broadcasting their game. The Cubs-based audio will also be available at MLB.com. For future reference, you can check which games will be televised here.
