At long last, the Cubs did manage to score runs tonight – plural! – without just hitting one solitary solo home run. Well, they did still have a solo homer, but they added seven other runs.
It was a glorious relief.
When the Cubs score more than one run, and then it turns into a whole lotta runs. (Thanks, #AtCubs.) pic.twitter.com/RjgfUsJxAV

That was Javy Baez, who’d just hit a three-run homer in the 9th, reacting to Anthony Rizzo going back-to-back with him. That’s fun. The Cubs had scored four earlier in the game, and, although things got dicey in the 8th inning, the final score looks like a blowout.
Jon Lester was solid once again, and the bullpen was mostly fine, though Carl Edwards Jr. had another shaky outing. Gonna want that to get straightened out quickly.
But tonight is a happy night. Cubs win. Cubs win. Cubs score many runs!
