My plan was to make a pitcher of margaritas and have it last me the whole weekend. Unfortunately, I never got around to doing so, in part, because I realized I didn’t have space to store them in the freezer. On the bright side, I have a bottle of wine that should get me through the draft (with another one as backup just in case it’s needed).

• Pace is going to knock this draft out of the park now that he has a Club Dub disco ball set up in his kitchen.
• Is there a Mike Brown in this draft? The Bears could use some safety help, and Larry Mayer (ChicagoBears.com) re-visits the second-round steal that Brown turned out to be. Snagging him and Brian Urlacher with the first two picks in that draft turned out to be solid building blocks for a stud defense. I wouldn’t mind if that is how it played out in 2020.

• Hurts has the pedigree of playing at a high level at a pair of blue blood college football powerhouses. Love has plus athleticism and plus-plus arm talent. Both have work to do on the development side, to be sure. But if you want to bet on arm talent and athleticism, Love might be worth a roll of the dice. If you want to run with a player with big game experience, then Hurts is the prospect for you. Where each goes will be fascinating to follow.

• Roquan Smith’s play was uneven last year. But he looked to be coming on strong as the season developed. It’s a shame last year ended with him being injured. I still have high hopes that he’ll reach his potential.
